We are excited to announce the upcoming release of the Chronicle API, a powerful tool designed to help third parties integrate with Chronicle, enabling seamless data exchange between your systems and ours. Whether you’re looking to push or pull data, the Chronicle API offers a robust interface to connect with our platform securely and efficiently.

What is the Chronicle API?

The Chronicle API provides businesses with the ability to communicate directly with Chronicle. Through this API, customers can easily access and manage data related to:

      • Employees

      • Absences

      • Absentee Records

      • Real Clockings

    By leveraging these API endpoints, you can automate and streamline how your data is handled, making it easier to sync and retrieve critical information across platforms.

    How to Get Started

    To start using the Chronicle API, third parties will need valid credentials. Here’s what you need to do:

    Obtain Credentials

      1. Each API user requires a unique Client ID and Client Secret, which will grant access to read and write data. At launch, these credentials will be manually issued by our team, but we plan to allow self-generation for superusers in the future.

      1. Authenticate
        Authentication is managed via OAuth2 Client Credentials Grant Type, ensuring only authorised users can access company data. To authenticate, send your Client ID and Secret to our /token endpoint. This will return an access token valid for 20 minutes. Once the token expires, you’ll need to refresh it.

      1. Start Integrating
        Once authenticated, use your access token to make API requests to the relevant endpoints. The token will grant access to your company’s data, allowing seamless interaction with Chronicle.
